How Do You Keep Radishes Fresh And Crisp? Here Are Some Hacks To Store Radish For Longer:

1. Pickling

To limit the growth of dangerous bacteria and extend the shelf life of the product, foods are fermented or submerged in acidic juice. Pickling is so simple and effective that it has been used for thousands of years all across the world. To pickle the radish, cut it into pieces and soak it in a mixture of sugar, white vinegar, water, and salt. This will keep the radish fresh for approximately 2-3 months.

2. Frozen

The freezing procedure reduces the growth of microbes and the chemical changes that impair food quality or cause it to deteriorate. Radishes can be frozen, however, this will make some of their distinctive flavours less intense. Radishes need to be quartered or sliced into slices, and for best results, they need to be blanched for two minutes apiece in a big pot of boiling water, and then dipped into a bowl of icy water. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture. To store the chopped radishes for a long time, put them in freezer bags.

3. Soil

Sand helps to control humidity, keeping excess moisture away from the vegetable so it doesn’t rot and prolonging its shelf life. According to this trick, you may keep radishes fresh for at least 90 days by keeping them covered in dirt or moist sand.

4. Damp Towel

In this do-it-yourself radish storage technique, you just wrap radishes in a wet paper towel, put them in a food storage bag, and put the bag in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator. Radishes will stay fresh for about 6-8 days if you do this.

5. Cold Water

Whole radishes may last for more than a week in a jar of cold water. Simply wash the veggies, cut the ends of the radish greens, and place them in a tightly sealed, water-filled container. After that, the radishes may be stored in the refrigerator for at least a week.
